In the wake of the heavy online backlash against the film “Adipurush“, dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir took to Twitter to issue a heartfelt apology for the script.

The film, a retelling of the Ramayana epic, featured Prabhas as Raghav, Kriti Sanon as Janaki, Saif Ali Khan as Lankeshwar, Sunny Singh as Laxmanan and others in pivotal roles. Audiences, however, were far from thrilled with the final product.

Muntashir’s apology came after the movie received intense criticism from netizens for its content, particularly its dialogues. Critics slammed the script for being ‘cheap,’ specifically pointing to lines delivered by Devdatta Nage, who played Bajrang.

“I accept people’s emotions have been hurt by Adipurush,” Muntashir admitted in his apology note. “With folded hands, I extend my unconditional apologies. May Prabhu Bajrang Bali keep us united and grant us strength to serve our sacred Sanatan and great nation.”

Moreover, audiences expressed disappointment over some scenes and the film’s VFX. Despite the high expectations that had preceded its release, “Adipurush” ended up underwhelming audiences, leaving a mark on Muntashir’s reputation.

The apologetic dialogue writer hopes that his sincere admission of his role in the film’s failure will mend the bridges with the film’s disgruntled viewers.
