In a surprising turn of events, the much-anticipated film “Adipurush,” featuring the dynamic trio of Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, has encountered a disheartening setback at the box office during its second weekend. Despite implementing desperate measures such as reducing ticket prices not once but twice, the movie managed to gather a mere Rs 14 crore, leaving industry insiders and fans astonished.

The downward trajectory for “Adipurush” became evident when it experienced an alarming drop in collections on its first Monday, painting a sombre picture of its future. Unfortunately, the woes continued during the second weekend as the directorial masterpiece by Om Raut struggled to sustain audience interest, resulting in disappointing revenue figures. According to the trusted industry tracker Sacnilk, the film could only amass Rs 6 crore on its second Sunday, further amplifying concerns within the industry.

Initially, “Adipurush” showcased promising prospects, achieving an impressive first-weekend collection of Rs 113 crore in Hindi. However, the subsequent weekends witnessed a dramatic decline, culminating in a meagre Rs 14 crore in overall collections for the country.

On its second Sunday, the film managed to generate Rs 6 crore across various languages, with Hindi collections estimated to be around Rs 3.25 crore, boasting an occupancy rate of 16.34 percent. “Adipurush” has accumulated an all-India nett collection of Rs 274.55 crore, while industry analysts project that its lifetime Hindi collections might range between Rs 135-140 crore.

Despite the makers’ attempts to salvage the situation by modifying controversial dialogues by Manoj Muntashir and slashing ticket prices to as low as Rs 112, these initiatives yielded limited success. From its release day, “Adipurush” faced controversies, potentially impacting its reception and overall box office performance.

As the film industry grapples with the unexpected downturn, Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan face questions about their career trajectory. The disappointing performance of “Adipurush” leaves a lingering uncertainty, raising concerns about the future implications for these acclaimed actors.
