Hrithik Roshan’s iconic film “Koi Mil Gaya” is set to make a grand comeback in theaters on August 4 as part of its 20-year celebrations.

Directed by Rakesh Roshan, the heartwarming sci-fi drama was originally released on August 8, 2003, and captured the hearts of audiences with its endearing tale.

The re-release of “Koi Mil Gaya” will take place in 30 cities, and the filmmakers are excited about the response it might receive, following the success of similar re-releases like “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” and “Jab We Met” earlier this year.

The film, which premiered on 450 screens, may increase its screenings based on public demand.

The film follows the touching journey of Rohit, portrayed by Hrithik Roshan, a developmentally delayed young man who forms a unique bond with an adorable alien named Jadoo. Amidst this extraordinary connection, Rohit also finds love in the character of Nisha, played by Preity Zinta.

As the plot unfolds, the friendly alien transfers his powers to Rohit and, eventually, to his son Krrish, also portrayed by Hrithik Roshan in the later films.

The success of “Koi Mil Gaya” paved the way for the creation of a superhero franchise with “Krrish” in 2006, which further expanded with “Krrish 3” in 2013. The movies showcase Krrish’s adventures, his love life with Priya (Priyanka Chopra), and his epic battles against formidable foes.

Rakesh Roshan is working on “Krrish 4” and intends to start filming in 2024. He acknowledges the challenges of making superhero films with limited budgets compared to their international counterparts but remains focused on delivering compelling content and innovative ideas.

As the world faces continuous changes in the film industry, Rakesh Roshan eagerly anticipates a time when audiences will return to the cinemas in large numbers, reigniting the magic of the big screen.

In the meantime, the re-release of “Koi Mil Gaya” promises to bring nostalgia and delight to fans, allowing them to relive the beloved classic once again on the silver screen.

So, mark your calendars for August 4 and prepare to embark on an emotional and thrilling journey with “Koi Mil Gaya,” a timeless masterpiece that continues to enchant audiences after two decades.
