Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film “OMG 2” is set to release its teaser on July 11, with the film scheduled to hit theatres on August 11. The sequel to the hit movie “OMG” which dealt with atheism and the legal system will now tackle a different social issue: sex education. Akshay Kumar, who also serves as the film’s producer, will reprise his role as God, with Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi in key roles.
Gautam, who plays a lawyer in the movie, commended Kumar’s passion for the project. The actor-producer spoke about the film at a festival in Jeddah, emphasising the importance of sex education. “It’s a very important subject…We have all kinds of subjects we learn in school and sex education is one topic I would like all the schools in the world to have,” said Kumar.
The movie is generating interest for its unique and socially relevant plot. The first look of Gautam was released earlier this month, but further details about the film are yet to be disclosed.
Gautam expressed excitement about working with Tripathi, highlighting the updated and relevant writing in the sequel.
The release of “OMG 2” will coincide with the launch of “Gadar 2”, starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, setting up an interesting clash at the box office.
