Former cricketer and Pakistan’s cricket icon Shahid Afridi recently shared a heartfelt tribute to his eldest daughter, Aqsa Afridi, on her marriage to Naseer Nasir. Celebrated for his prowess on the cricket field, Afridi demonstrated his softer side with an emotional Instagram post marking the event.
Embracing his daughter in a series of photos, Afridi penned a touching note, reflecting on his love for his child. He wrote, “Meri pyari beti (my dear daughter), it feels like yesterday when I held you in my arms, promising never to leave your side. As you embark on this new chapter, remember that you’ll always have my heart, as I’m the man who loved you first.”
Shahid Afridi, known for his distinctive black shalwar kurta and waistcoat ensemble, also extended prayers for his daughter and son-in-law. He wished for divine protection and a beautiful life for them under Allah’s blessings.
Aqsa Afridi, dressed in a heavily embroidered red and gold dress with matching jewelry, tied the knot with Naseer Nasir in a private ceremony in Karachi in December. The Rukhsati event, marking the consummation of their marriage, took place recently in July.
Attended by family, friends, and prominent Pakistan national cricket team members, the event saw attendance from Babar Azam, Rizwan, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Imam ul Haq, and his son-in-law, Shaheen Shah Afridi.
Figures from politics and entertainment, including Federal Health Minister Abdul Qadir Patel and TV show host Waseem Badami, also graced the event.
