Take Precautionary Hygiene
When working with a plunger, it may cause a big or little mess. So it is suggested to wear rubber gloves. If any rugs, mats or other items are placed near the toilet, remove them as the water splashing during the plunging process may create more mess. Stop flushing again and again if the toilet bowl is full of water. If you keep plunging, the water will start to overflow and spill over the floor.
Which Types of Plunger Should I Use
The selection of the right type of plunger is also mandatory. You can’t use a plunger with a small or inappropriate suction cup which is known as a cup or sink plunger. This type of plunger is best for unclogging bathtubs and sinks or basins. For the purpose to unclog a toilet, you need a toilet plunger or flange plunger. Its cup has a greater and wider dome than the sink plunger. It can be easily placed and adjusted on the hole of the toilet bowl.
Turn off the water at the valve
First of all, you have to turn off the water supply of the toilet so that overflowing or flooding water can be avoided. There will be a valve under the toilet, you just have to turn it off.
Take out the water from the toilet bowl
Before using the plunger, there must be an adequate amount of water in the toilet bowl so that plunger will work well. If the toilet is overflowing, remove some water to avoid splashing. And if there is less or no water in the toilet bowl then add some water to smooth the plunging process.
Place the plunger on the toilet hole

Not any other tricks needed to be done. Before placing the plunger on the hole, assure that there is water around half of the toilet bowl. Place the plunger in the hole of the toilet. When you place the plunger direct on the hole and fit it there, the suction cup will form a complete cover over the hole.
Create suction by pulling and pushing the plunger
Hold the plunger from the long stick or handle, and exert a force to push the suction cup and pull it back without removing the plunger from the hole. Again push and pull the plunger. Continue this process at least 5-6 times. This will create a great vacuum and then at a final push, the clog will be cleared.
Repeat the suction process till needed
If still the clog is there, again plunge it like previously done. But this time try it more forcefully. Try and try again unless the drain water will go down. Hopefully, after 3-4 tries, there are more chances that the clog will be gone.
